If you are visiting London for the very first time, then there’s a high chance that you are already feeling overwhelmed. You may feel as though there is just so much to do and not enough time to do it in. If you want to make the most out of your vacation then here you can find whatever you need to know.
London is a Huge Place
The city of London is absolutely huge. There are millions of people and the metropolitan area is much bigger than you’d think. If you don’t have more than a few days in the city, then it helps to stay in the area that you’d like to explore. This will save you a lot of time travelling, and it will also make your entire journey way more affordable. If you are planning on moving to the UK from Australia then it helps to find accommodation here too, as you’ll be in the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world.
Get an Oyster Card
An Oyster Card will save you a ton of time and money. This is especially the case when your travel costs start adding up. Oyster Cards are free, but you do have to pay a deposit. This is refundable when you take your card back. You can preload an amount on your card and when you have done this, you can travel just about anywhere you want. If you travel quite a lot then you’ll be glad to know that there’s a cap, so you can only spend so much in one day.
Walk between Tube Stops
There are actually some stations that are faster to walk between, rather than getting the tube. Take Leicester Square to Covent Garden for example. This walk is around 3 minutes and this is way faster when compared to the time it would take you to navigate between all of the tube tunnels. The best thing about it is that it won’t cost you a thing either!
Fly Low-Cost
If you want to keep costs as low as possible then try and find an airline that prioritises cheaper landing fees in London. This makes your trip way more budget friendly.
Book Tickets in Advance
If you want to go to the theatre, then it is so important that you book all of your tickets in advance. If you don’t, you may find that they sell out before you can even get to the booth. This can be frustrating to say the least, so keep an eye out for announcements and also make sure that you are following stadiums, arenas and venues on social media. They are usually some of the first to announce new dates, so you can beat the crowd and secure the best seats whenever you travel to London for a show.
London can be a busy place, but when you have the right tips at your disposal, you’ll soon find that it’s easy to navigate and packed full of things to do.
