Two of my PhD girls and I set out on another mini vacation (I promise that we do work also!).
This time we made tracks down the Great Ocean Road, which is still one of my favourite places. We decided to spend two nights in an Airbnb in Skenes Creek (just outside of Apollo Bay). It was my first time staying in an Airbnb and it was the first time this particular house had Airbnb guests, so maybe it was meant to be.
The house is 100 metres from the beach (which happens to be a very pretty surf beach!), has views from every window, and is modest in size, but gigantic in character. To me the house reminds me of what the real life “Gingham” Instagram filter would look like.
I do not think photos can do this place justice, because most of the charm is in the warm and homely feeling you get sitting on the couch with the sun gleaming in, but I will give it a whirl.
If you are ever in the area, definitely consider the little Shack by the sea, perhaps the sweetest Airbnb!

[…] I have decided that I LOVE staying in Airbnbs! They are always a surprise and make me feel like I am living someone else’s life for just a few days. If you haven’t checked out my blogpost of a previous Airbnb I stayed in click here. […]
[…] Another insight into an amazing Airbnb, they keep getting better- although the last two were great too (check them out here and here). […]
