** In Collaboration **
Travelling during the summer will require a lot more planning and preparation this year. Whether you are going back to education or you just need to get away from everything, it can prove difficult in this current climate. Many people find that because of the ongoing pandemic that they don’t want to go anywhere, so a staycation is essential. If you are trying to find ways to make the most of your summer while still getting out there and experiencing something new in some way, how can you make the most of this?
A Caravan Holiday
Caravans may seem to be the pastime of those on the wrong side of 50, but it could be the perfect way to combine a road trip with secure overnight accommodation, all while saving money! If you go on a caravan holiday you can find one of the many campsites around and set yourself up. And of course, if you don’t like somewhere you can just move onto the next place! Of course, the big problem is if you get a caravan you need to make sure it’s safely stored after your holidays are done but there are plenty of secure indoor caravan storage facilities to take advantage of in this respect. On the other hand, if you don’t like the idea of caravan holidays but you still want to do a road trip, you can get yourself a campervan.
A Hiking Holiday
Be careful with this one! You need to choose your location wisely! While hotels are open again they could very well shut pretty soon. It’s important when it comes to picking your hiking holiday that you choose somewhere that’s not going to be overrun with people. It can be incredibly frustrating trying to socially distance while also navigating rough terrain. Of course, going hiking by yourself makes things a lot easier because you don’t need to be responsible for others. But the best thing to do is to have a good look at the locations where people are staying away. You can find smaller places that you can take advantage of, especially before the bank holiday kicks in.
Planning a Staycation Closer to Home
It all depends on where you are. If you are in Wales the lockdown rules are slightly relaxed at the moment. But if you are somewhere where most things are trying to get back to normality, you may think about making the most of the staycation in your immediate surroundings. A staycation is something you can do at any time of year. Just think about the things that you don’t normally do and take advantage of them. When we live in one place, we tend to get used to our surroundings and don’t go beyond the norm. Instead, think about doing things a little differently, even if this is taking a different walking route. You may be surprised at what you will discover!
Whether you’re going travelling or just want to enjoy the summer while you can, it’s important to make the most of it before you go back to reality!
