Creativity is an incredibly transferable and important skill for a variety of industries. It is often not an attribute that is listed on job descriptions. However, it is one that employers value and one that can allow you to really make a stamp on your workplace and cement yourself and your worth to the company. People often view science and research as being on the other end of the spectrum to arts in relation to creativity, however PhD students have to be extremely creative. To develop hypotheses, methodology plans, create surveys, write reports, and communicate research in engaging ways all includes creativity. Put tangible examples of your creative concepts in your cover letter and find ways to discuss them in interviews.
