I have already been a PhD student for over a month. One month of how many months? A PhD is a marathon not a sprint is like an ancient proverb around the university corridors. But right now it feels like a brisk walk, one where you can stop to smell the roses, and sip the tea. Three years to complete three research projects sounds achievable, right? I have so many ideas and so many plans. Although I 100% feel like an imposter, the fake it until you make it technique seems to be working. I have spent the last few weeks reading papers, summarising papers, and reading more papers. I have also spent the time getting to know my colleagues, whom I spend many hours with in the windowless office. Although, it has barely been a month, comradery is already apparent.
Until next time,
B
