**In Collaboration**

We all want to live in a home that is comfortable, beautiful and functional. But often we don’t know where to start in order to make that happen. It is more than just the odd piece of furniture and a great coffee table, though. Here are some tips to get the most from your living space and creating something that you love.

Wall Art

Art can say so much about what you like, the colours you find pleasing, the era of time that you have an interest in. It is so personal. Even when it is simply reprinted artwork from IKEA. The placement, the frames, and what else you use. We are lucky enough to be able to source from all over the world with the internet – so make use of it. Slowly curate your perfect wall.

Ceiling

How often do you really, look up? Probably not often enough. The chances are it could do with some repair work. Ceiling repair is a great idea because you can also change out the light fittings to something that fits the style that you are going to achieve.

Plants

You can’t deny how wonderful plants make a room look. Tall tree-like plants in the corner of the rooms add interest and colour. You can choose pots that match the rest of your interior too. Large ceramics, and heavy-bottomed glass one where you can see the roots of the plant, and ones hanging from the ceiling. Plants are great for your mental health and productivity. As well as many plants cleaning the air in your home.

Flooring

If you have the ceiling fixed, you’d be remiss to skip the floor. Wood and laminate floor is easier to keep clean and doesn’t hold on to smells. And you can add a rug to the middle of the room to tie in all of the colours and styles you have opted to go for. Wood and laminate also stand the test of time, so they’re great investments.

Lighting

You can create a completely different feeling in a room by the lampshade and the tone of bulb you choose. Coppers bulbs are a big trend right now and can make the room feel warm and relaxing. Using some of the modern colours, mood-lighting is also a great idea if you want to have a specific ‘feel’. You are no longer stuck choosing between an uplighter and a circular lampshade. You can choose from the ones that look like clouds, or raindrops, or in fact a spaceship if that is what you like.

Throw Pillows

If you don’t want to spend a fortune on changing the entire room, then smaller details like throw pillows can give a whole new personality. If you want a Moroccan inspired room or a minimalist feel, you can look for designs and style of pillow that add to that. They’re relatively inexpensive and can be purchased over time rather than all in one go if you are budget conscious.
