3 Simple Lifestyle Changes To Reduce Your Impact On The Planet 100%

** In Collaboration**

Trying to live an eco-friendly lifestyle is often a very daunting task. It seems like every single day we discover a new way that we’re damaging the environment without even realizing it. It’s not just about walking instead of taking the car (although that is a big help), it’s about the things that you buy, the places you go, and the food that you eat. A lot of people feel that they’re completely powerless to do anything to help the planet because there is always something else that they’re getting wrong, no matter how many lifestyle changes they make. The important thing to remember is that any positive change you make is a good thing regardless so you shouldn’t give up. If you are serious about reducing your impact on the environment, here are a few simple lifestyle changes that make a massive difference.

Collecting Rainwater

Water consumption isn’t always talked about as much as it should be, although in the last few years, people have started to consider it more. Changes to the weather and attitudes to water use mean that the risk of water shortages in the next few decades is very real. But if we start reducing our water consumption now, we can avoid those shortages and ensure that there is enough water for everybody. One of the best and easiest ways to do that is by installing some water tanks outside to collect rainwater. You can get some great slimline ones so even if you don’t have that much space, you can still collect rainwater. Using it to water plants or wash your car will save a lot of water over the years so it’s definitely worth doing.

Cut Back On Red Meat

You’ve probably noticed that veganism and vegetarianism have really taken off in the last couple of years and environmental concerns have been a major driving force behind that change. Red meat produces a lot of carbon emissions and if you’re eating it all of the time, that isn’t very eco-friendly. That doesn’t mean you have to cut out meat altogether, but just reducing your intake and eating vegetarian for a day or two each week can make a big difference.

Become An Ecotourist

When people travel, they don’t often consider their environmental impact but you should. Ecotourism is a concept that is becoming more popular and it simply means considering your impact on the environment when traveling. For example, if you’re going anywhere that has animals, are they cared for and protected properly? Trying to avoid flights if possible is another simple change that you can make. You should also consider the environmental records of the countries that you visit. If they are not making any effort to cut back on carbon emissions, for example, is that really the kind of country that you want to put money into? Considering these things when you’re planning a trip means that you can still enjoy travel without compromising your efforts to live an eco-friendly lifestyle.

There is always more that can be done to protect the environment but these lifestyle changes will make a huge difference.
