Working from home is an excellent opportunity for many women. It gives you a great chance to get the flexibility that you need, but aren’t often afforded by more traditional working environments. It can give you the chance to start something for yourself. To be your own boss and to grow the business that you’ve always dreamed of. When you work from home, you get the chance to avoid any gender bias and smash through that glass ceiling.

But, the realities of actually working out of your house are often a little more chaotic than you might have imagined. Trying to work around the distractions of your home life, with your family in the background, can be tough. It can be hard to be motivated to work, to avoid distraction and to actually get stuff done.
One of the best ways to do this is to create the perfect home office. One that inspires you helps you to stay focused, gives you space to organise your work, and your mind and makes you feel like the powerful and confident business woman that you are. Here are some tips to help you.
Choose the Right Location
Not all of us are lucky enough to have a spare room that can be easily converted into a sizable home office. So, we have to think outside the box a little bit. It can be tempting to put your desk at the back of your lounge. But, if someone else is watching TV, or you’ve got kids playing on the other side of the room, will you be able to focus? Adding an office space to the bedroom is another popular option. But, this can make it hard to sleep when you are done. Your bedroom should be a relaxing space, not a workspace.
Try to find a space away from the hustle and bustle of your home. The dining room, an unused garage, a loft or basement conversion or even a corner in a large hallway or underneath your stairs can make excellent options.
Get Everything That You Need
Your home office should have everything that you need to work well. You’ll need a computer, printer, and supplies from 123Inkjets. You might also want notepads and pens. After that, what you need will depend on the nature of your business.
Keep it Bright
A dark office environment can have an adverse effect on your mood and focus. It can make you feel tired and cloud your mind. If you want to be able to work well, with focus and concentration, keep things bright. A window is ideal, but not always possible. Adding mirrors can brighten a small space, white walls, lighter textiles, house plants, and light-coloured furniture can also be effective.
Add More Storage
Many people that work from home make the mistake of thinking they don’t need storage. We save files to the cloud and rarely print. But, this usually leads to a cluttered and untidy desk. Add some shelving and a file cabinet at the very least, and you’ll have a much more productive office space.
